COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services says in a statement that a PCR test report is not required for children under the age of 12 arriving in the country from overseas.

However, those aged 12 and over are required to submit a PCR test report at the airport done 72 hours prior to embarkation or a rapid antigen test done 48 hours prior to embarkation, confirming that they are not infected with the virus.

Further, the Health Services Director General instructs the relevant authorities to ensure the inbound travelers fill a mandatory Online Health Declaration at the arrival counters of the airports. Such travelers should possess QR Codes on his or her mobile phone or hard copy.

The DGHS also mentioned that all rapid antigen test reports and PCR reports should be in English.

These new regulations will come to effect from 1st January 2022.
