COLOMBO (News 1st): The Attorney General has been consulted with regard to declaring the vaccination card a mandatory requirement to enter public places, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday (Dec. 11). "The Attorney General was consulted on declaring the complete vaccination (that is receiving both doses of the COVID-19 jab), a mandatory requirement when entering public places, and the Legal Draftsman's Department is working on the matter," Dr. Asela Gunawardena, the Director-General of Health Services told News 1st. According to Dr. Gunawardena, once the Legal Draftsman's Department finalizes the matter, the Minister of Health will issue the respective gazette declaring complete vaccination mandatory to enter public places. Dr. Asela Gunawardena also urged the people to obtain the booster dose as soon as possible and continue to follow the basic health practices such as wearing a face mask and avoiding crowded places as well.
