Vaccination cards to be made mandatory to enter public places: President

COLOMBO (News 1st);  The President has instructed authorities to complete administering the Booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine within the next two weeks.

The President has mentioned this during a meeting of the COVID-19 Prevention Committee at the Presidential Secretariat held on Friday (10) morning.

Moreover, the President has stated that vaccination cards will be made mandatory to enter public places.

Meanwhile, the President has also instructed for the COVID-19 committee to grant approval for administering the second dose to children between 16-19 while all children between the ages 12-15 will be given the first dose of the vaccine.

Furthermore, the President also instructed for the persisting health restrictions to be relaxed in view of the growth in the tourism sector and the growth observed in tourists visiting the country.
