COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Education, Dinesh Gunawardena on Wednesday (08) informed Parliament that discussions had concluded with regard to the first draft to declare the Teachers’ Service an inclusive service.
The Minister of Education stated this while responding to oral questions submitted at the Parliament.
Moreover, the Education Minister said that discussions will be held with trade unions regarding the relevant Bill and it will be published once agreed upon by the relevant parties.
Speaking further on the education of schoolchildren, Minister Gunawardena said that instructions have been issued for all schools to follow health guidelines in continuing their academic activities.
The Minister of Education, also expressed his condolences over the death of Raja Collure, who passed away while receiving treatment for COVID-19, even after having received both the doses and stressed on the importance of following health instructions even after obtaining the vaccine.
