Adani involvement in northern wind & solar project - alleges Champika Ranawaka

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Opposition Lawmaker Patali Champika Ranawaka alleged that the government is planning to handing over three islands in the north of the country to India's Adani Group for the construction of a 500MW Wind and Solar energy plant.

"The Chairman of the CEB has written a letter to the Finance Secretary on the 25th of November and the third line of this letter reads that Adani Group be given the 500MW project from Mannar to Punakari," he told reporters on Monday (6).

He alleged the Ceylon Electricity Board had cast aside all the tenders that were presented for the wind and solar power project, and decided to grant it to Adani Group.
