Fisheries Corporation Director dismissed

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Managing Director of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation has been dismissed with immediate effect.
Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries, Jayantha Chandrasoma stated that the decision was taken by State Minister Kanchana Wijesekera based on institutional considerations.
He also said that a qualified person will be appointed for the relevant post.
However, when News 1st inquired about this move from the Managing Director of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation, Krishantha Ratnaweera, he stated that he had not yet been notified of his removal.
