Extremism puts any nation in turmoil: President

COLOMBO (News 1st); Extremist activities, regardless of what nature it occurs, puts any nation in a state of turmoil, says President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Issuing a press release on the incident which occurred in Sialkot, the President stated that Sri Lanka hopes that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan will keep to his pledges of ensuring justice to the victim of this incident. The Sri Lankan Government will also observe the actions taken by the Pakistani Government with regard to this incident, he added. Mentioning that the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will taken further steps with regard to the incident, the President also requested the Pakistani PM to ensure the security of other Sri Lankans in Pakistan as well.
