Gazette cancelling fertilizer import ban signed by Finance Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa has signed the gazette notification regarding the cancellation of the gazette notification banning the importation of chemical fertilizers.

The Controller of Imports and Exports, Damayanthi S. Karunaratne stated that the ban on importing chemical fertilizer will be lifted from today (01).

Meanwhile, the importation of several other weedicides including glyphosate has been banned by the relevant gazette notification.

Accordingly, the relevant gazette notification has been sent to the printing press for printing
