COLOMBO (News 1st); Six children are confirmed to have died after a ferry that was transporting them capsized in Kinniya on Tuesday (23) morning, said Sri Lanka Police.

11 other children were hospitalized following the incident.

Earlier, the Trincomalee Police said that 20 children were traveling on the ferry when the tragedy took place.
