Gazette issued nullifying decision to remove Mannar PS Chairman

COLOMBO (News 1st); The newly appointed Governor of the Northern Province Jeevan Thiagarajah has issued a gazette notification nullifying the previous gazette notification issued by the former Governor of the Northern Province P.S.M. Charles removing the Chairman of the Mannar Pradeshiya Sabha. The former Governor took steps to remove the Mannar PS Chairman following the investigations into the corruption allegations leveled against him. The previous gazette notification was issued on 13 September with effect from the following day, however, subsequently a writ petition was filed by the PS member to reverse the decision. The most recent gazette notification issued by the Northern Province Governor Jeevan Thiagarajah has been effect from 09 November.
