COLOMBO (News 1st); An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued amending several regulations in the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance.

Accordingly, it had been declared that the guidelines, circulars, directions, instructions, or terms and conditions issued, given or specified by the Director-General of Health Services, shall supersede the guidelines, circulars, directions, instructions or terms and conditions issued, given or specified by other proper authorities and that it would become the task of other authorities to carry out the relevant guidelines issued by the Director-General of Health.

Moreover, the Proper Authority for the whole of Sri Lanka, may from time to time determine the restrictions relating to a gathering, activity, or event within or outside a COVID-19 infected locality, including the maximum number of persons allowed or the allowable capacity of a place to participate in a place of gathering, activity event or a similar place of meeting.
