Health officials point out increase in COVID-19 cases

COLOMBO (News 1st);  Health officials point out that there is a slight increase in the number of COVID19 infections reported daily in the country.

Sudarshani Fernandopulle, State Minister for COVID-19 Prevention, said that the people's support was essential to control the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, 628 COVID-19 infections were identified in the country yesterday (05).

Accordingly, the total number of COVId-19 infections reported in the country rose to 544,013.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Health Services confirmed 15 COVID-19 deaths occurred the day before yesterday, out of which 09 are women and the other 06 are men.

Accordingly, the total number of COVID-19 deaths reported from Sri Lanka is 13,821.

The Ministry of Health stated that 514,573 people with the virus infection have recovered so far.
