Expert advise disregarded in fertilizer ban, alleged Handunnetti

COLOMBO (News 1st); JVP member Sunil Handunetti alleges that the President had cast aside the advice of scholars and experts in agriculture, and worked according to the advice of certain other parties to ban chemical fertilizer.

Emphasizing that the public should have been informed of the decision to use only organic fertilizer beforehand, Handunetti stated that the President is working on the instructions of the same persons who prompted the Government into believing myths during the pandemic.

The same people who are protesting today are the very people who voted for the Government, yet they have realized the truth today, Handunetti further stated.
