Access To Clean Drinking Water, once a dream, becomes a reality for Nelumvila

How many people do you think suffer without proper access to clean drinking water, right here in Sri Lanka?

The people of the 368 Thulana village in Nelumvila Anuradhapura, have suffered from this issue for many years.

Their request for access to clean water was answered today.

The main grievance of the residents of the 368 Thulana village in Nelumvila in the Anuradhapura District is the lack of clean drinking water.

650 families in the Nelumvila village and 22 surrounding villages have been plagued by this issue for many years.

Only brackish water is available in their wells.

After countless attempts to inform the responsible authorities of their plight, these people turned to Gammadda.

The gammadda team went to this village this morning to make their dreams a reality.

A smile lit up the faces of all residents of these villages when the foundation stone was laid today for a project to provide clean drinking water to the area.

News1st News Director Gayan Sampath Somachandra, representatives of the Gammadda team, state sector officials and residents of the area were present at the event.

Priyani Jayalath donated the land on which the project will be carried out.

The project is funded by the generous donations of Tennyson and Vineetha Rodrigo.

The dream of the residents of this village to have access to clean drinking water, is not longer just a dream.
