Gas Tank Explosion in Weligama leaves three injured & causes damage to several homes

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three people were injured after a gas tank at a restaurant in Weligama exploded on Wednesday (3) night.

Sri Lanka Police said two males and a female were injured and were rushed to the Matara Hospital for treatment, and they are out of harm's way.

"I heard a loud bang and I saw fire," said one witness.

People living in the area had fled the scene for their own safety, due to the impact of the explosion, it was reported.

"We were all asleep. Then there was a loud noise and when we woke up we saw the windows shattered," said another local resident.
