Special Traffic Plan In Colombo For Vietnamese President’s Visit

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police say a special traffic plan is in effect in Colombo today due to the official visit of Vietnamese President To Lam.

Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic and Road Safety, W.P.J. Senadheera, stated that several roads in Colombo city will be temporarily closed at different times during the day.

As the Vietnamese President is scheduled to visit the Presidential Secretariat this morning, buses and heavy vehicles entering the area through the N.S.A. Roundabout, Galle Face Middle Road and Bank of Ceylon Mawatha will be restricted two hours before the President’s movement begins.

Traffic restrictions will also be in place temporarily along the route used by the Vietnamese President.
These include the Galle Face Roundabout, Pittala Junction, Red Cross Roundabout, Library Roundabout, Nelum Pokuna Junction, D.S. Senanayake Roundabout, Rajagiriya and Parliament Road.
