Dispute over a 'Kottu' ends in murder

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 25-year-old male was clubbed to death following a dispute over a Kottu in Kotugoda.

According to reports, the victim had visited a shop on Tuesday (2) night and placed an order for a kottu, while making an additional request for extras in his order.

However, the shopkeeper had refused to abide by the request for extras.

Thereafter, the victim had gone to his house and returned with a machete with the intention of harming the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper's son had witnessed the attempt on his father's life and attacked the assailant with a pole.

The shopkeeper's son was arrested and further investigations are underway.
