People's Tribunal opens in The Hague to probe Lasantha's killing

COLOMBO (News 1st); The People's Tribunal set up to investigate the killing of three journalists including Sri Lanka's Lasantha Wickrematunge opened on Tuesday (2) in The Hague.

Reporters Without Borders, Free Press Unlimited, and the Committee to Protect Journalists have set up the People's Tribunal.

This would be to indict the Governments of Sri Lanka, Mexico, and Syria for failing to serve justice over the killing of the journalists.

They include Lasantha Wickrematunge, Miguel Angel Lopez Velasco, and Nabil Al-Sharbaji.

The hearing began on Tuesday (3) at 1:30 pm Sri Lankan time.
