People didn't vote to receive substandard fertilizer - Sajith

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said the people did not vote for the government to have substandard fertilizer provided to them.

Premadasa while attending the opening of MP Harin Fernando's operation office for the Samagi Jana Balavegaya in Wattala said it is astounding to note that when a diplomatic mission blacklisted the People's Bank, the Finance Minister had stated he was not aware of such a thing.

He said the government should have summoned the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka and reprimanded him over such actions and made it clear that Sri Lanka will not pay for rejected fertilizer.
