Law must be always followed when making decisions: MP Weerakkody

COLOMBO (News 1st);  SLPP Parliamentarian Chandima Weerakody says the law must always be followed when decisions are made. He made these remarks referring to the Government's decision to import nano Nitrogen fertilizer. MP Weerakkody said while there is a shortage of fertilizer in the country, there is growing concern whether the newly imported fertilizer is suitable for local cultivations. While foreign nations are cutting ties with us, it has come to a point in which our existing ally, China is also not on good terms with us, he said, mentioning that it is not the farmers who should bear the brunt of this decision. Pointing out that it is the people in power who should bear the responsibility for these decisions, MP Weerakkody re quested authorities to follow the established law when making decisions.
