Distribution of organic fertilizer from Monday

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Agrarian Development says that the distribution of organic fertilizer to all districts will commence from next Monday (01). Commissioner General of Agrarian Development, A.H.M.L. Abeyratne said that the distribution of organic fertilizer to farmers in the Ampara District commenced yesterday (29). Accordingly, KCL liquid fertilizer and Nano Nitrogen fertilizer will be distributed to the farmers, free of charge. Meanwhile, protests were held in several areas yesterday (29), demanding a solution to the fertilizer crisis. One of the protests was organized in the Ampara town by several Farmers Associations, including the All Ceylon Govijana Federation. Farmers in the Kiri-oruwa area in Bandarawela also staged a protest demanding fertilizer, who pointed out that they have not been able to cultivate in the Maha season.
