October 31st declared as day of mourning

COLOMBO (News 1st); The State Ministry of Home Affairs has declared 31st October as a day of mourning in memory of the late Ven. Welamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Thero. Moreover, Thero's last rites are scheduled to be held at 2.00 p.m. on Sunday (31) at Independence Square with full state patronage and full state honors. Therefore, the Government has decided to declare the day as a day of mourning, and accordingly, slaughterhouses and meat stalls located in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts will remain closed.
