Fire Ravages Hurulu Wewa Reserve: Nearly 10 Acres Destroyed

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A fire that broke out in the Eco Park area of the Hurulu Wewa Reserve has destroyed nearly 10 acres of land, according to police.

Authorities said officers from the Forest Conservation Department and the Department of Wildlife Conservation worked together to successfully bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further within the protected reserve.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and officials are continuing efforts to establish how the incident occurred.
