Police amongst govt departments receive new vehicles

COLOMBO (News 1st); A total of 164 vehicles required for field operations were symbolically handed over to the respective ministries and state bodies by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Thursday (28) at the Presidential Secretariat.

These vehicles include 50 ambulances for the Health Ministry and Suwa Seriya Service.

In addition, 52 Water Bowsers and 62 Double Cabs were handed over to the Department of Wildlife, Irrigation Department, Local Government bodies as well as District Secretariat.

In addition, 150 motorcycles from Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) were also handed over to Sri Lanka Police by the President.

These motorcycles will be used by Sri Lanka Police in traffic operations.
