Fertilizer crisis: 141 University professors address letter to President

COLOMBO (News 1st); A group of University professors directed a letter to the President requesting a discussion on the fertilizer crisis. The letter, directed by the Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Senior Professor Udith K. Jayasinghe was signed by 141 University professors. The letter states that the University professors are willing to propose to the Government a program to address the crisis faced by the agricultural sector in the country as well as to implement the current Government's 'Green Agriculture' Vision. Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture Prof. Jayasinghe stated that the letter will be forwarded to the President and an appointment will be made to discuss the matter with the President.
