Thundershowers, showers expected tonight & tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Meteorological Department says that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Kalutara, Galle and Matara Districts tonight (17). Moreover, several spells of showers will also occur in Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in Colombo and Gampaha Districts as well. Meanwhile, Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts tomorrow (18). A few showers may occur in the Northern and North-central Provinces while fair weather will prevail elsewhere, the Met Department added. Additionally, Wind speed can be increased up to (30-40) kmph at times in the Western slope of central hills, Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern Provinces and in the Trincomalee District, the Meteorological Department adds.
