Give Sri Lanka more time to settle its debt - Subramanian Swamy

COLOMBO (News 1st); Indian MP Subramanian Swamy says India must grant Sri Lanka five more years to settle its debt.

In a tweet, Indian Rajya Sabha Member Subramaniam Swamy said the time has come for India to reset its foreign policy on Sri Lanka.

The tweet accuses Indian foreign ministry S. Jaishankar and national security advisor Ajith Doval of spoiling ties between the two countries.

After the Indian Foreign Secretary's visit the Indian High Commission had said Sri Lanka should fully implement the 13th amendment.

Minister Basil Rajapaksa had then told a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms on the need to conduct the provincial council elections at the earliest.
