Government the reason for recent price hike: Attanayake

COLOMBO (News 1st); SJB Parlimentarian Tissa Attanayake says the reason for the recent price hike on essential goods is due to the present ruling faction failing to carry out its duties. Speaking during an event today (16), Attanayake pointed out that the prices of milk powder, sugar, rice, and also gas have been increasing by the biggest margin ever recorded within Sri Lankan history. Alleging that the Government is also attempting to carry out hidden agendas during the pandemic, Attanayake said that the Government is also planning to increase the price of fuel within the next few days. Furthermore, the MP demanded the Government to protect the people and to grant them concessions during this difficult time. " If the government cannot fulfill its duty to the people, then the only thing left for them to do is to come forth and tell the people that they have failed and resign," He stated.
