COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said it launched an investigation to locate and arrest the suspects responsible for the murder of a 14-year-old girl from Dambulla.

Police said the main suspect and his wife have already fled the area.

The lifeless body of the 14-year-old girl was found on the bed of an abandoned house in Dambulla on Saturday (09).

According to Police, she was taken away by a person known to her, in order to tutor a child in the neighborhood.

However, as she did not return home, he parents had immediately alerted the police.

Local residents assisting in the search raised an alarm over an abandoned house and following an inspection by police, the body of the girl was found.
