#DataScam : Those involved should be summoned, says Sajith

COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says that those who want to reveal the truth behind the #Datascam are being summoned to the CID instead of persons who committed the crime.

Speaking to the media today (30), Premadasa said that the national database is something that should be protected, as it has sensitive information that could impact the country's national security.

" Journalists and newspaper editors, who wants to reveal the truth, have been summoned to the CID instead of people who should be summoned to the CID." The Opposition Leader said.

The Government always stood by the side of myths and falsehoods, Premadasa said.

" Even the Attorney General himself said it this data scam was done for the needs of those in the Medical Mafia" he mentioned.

He added that a mechanism to distract the people from real issues is also underway.

The opposition leader called on the authorities to ensure that the truth is revealed.
