COLOMBO (News 1st): Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa and the Leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, Rauff Hakeem have been appointed to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Electoral Reforms.
As members of the Parliamentary Select Committee, they have been tasked with identifying reforms in the electoral structure and elections and to make necessary amendments in that regard.
The relevant committee is Chaired by the Leader of the House, Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Education.
The other members of the Committee include Parliamentarians Nimal Siripala de Silva, Prof. G. L. Peiris, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Douglas Devananda, Wimal Weerawansa, Ali Sabri, Jeewan Thondaman, Anura Dissanayake, Kabir Hashim, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Mano Ganeshan, M. Sumanthiran, Madura Vithanage, and Sagara Kariyawasam.
