COLOMBO (News 1st); The Court of Appeal granted permission to allow Gampola Vidanage Samantha Kumara alias 'Wele Suda', a known drug trafficker, to be moved out of the Boossa Prison for necessary medical treatment.

Wele Suda's mother had filed a petition with the Court of Appeal claiming that there was an attempt to assassinate her son, by taking him out of prison under the pretext of conducting investigations.

After taking this application into consideration, the Court of Appeal had earlier prohibited Wele Suda to be removed from prison without a court order.

President's Counsel Romesh De Silva informed the court that the order on the Prisons Superintendent had posed obstructions to allow his client 'Wele Suda' to obtain the necessary medical treatment.

Thereby, the Court of Appeal granted permission for 'Wele Suda', to be moved out of the Boossa Prison for necessary medical treatment.
