COLOMBO (News 1st); Ruling Party MP Jagath Kumara said he is not afraid of any disciplinary action, as suggested by the Public Security Minister Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara.

A conflict of opinions has arisen between the MP and Minister from the same party over the transfer of the Officer In Charge of the Padukka Police Station.

Jagath Kumara alleges that the OIC was replaced with a close associate of Minister Gamini Lokuge.

The Minister said says necessary disciplinary action will be taken against MP Jagath Kumara for convening a press conference and criticizing cabinet ministers of his own party.

The Minister of Public Security said the OIC for Padukka was transferred due to an allegation made against him, and the directive was recommended by the IGP.

"If Sarath Weerasekara was not the Minister, the teachers and principals protests would never have escalated," MP Jagath Kumara said adding the sole reason for the protests to escalate was the manner in which police took away the protesting teachers, principals as well as monks.

"He is trying to become a Hitler. He brands those who protest as terrorists and calls for disciplinary action against those who speak the truth," said Jagath Kumara.

He warned that he would have to reveal certain secrets if the situation goes further.

"If there needs to be disciplinary action, it needs to start from SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam for his charade on Udaya Gammanpila," he added.
