COLOMBO (News 1st); Three homicides were reported within 24 hours, said Sri Lanka Police.
A 28-year-old male was stabbed to death in Ella after an argument between two groups escalated.
Police said sharp weapons were used and four people were injured and hospitalized.
One of them succumbed upon admission to hospital, said Sri Lanka Police.
The reason for the altercation is yet to be ascertained and investigations are underway.
A 74-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her grandson in Weliweriya on Friday (17).
Sri Lanka Police arrested the suspect and further investigations are underway.
A 46-year-old woman was attacked with an axe and killed by her husband over a person dispute on Friday (17) morning.
