COLOMBO (News 1st): Jaffna-born Kamsajini Gunaratnam, was elected to the Norwegian Parliament on 12th September.

She entered politics from the Labor Party and in 2015 was elected as a representative to Oslo City Council for the first time in 2007. She was a deputy member of the Storting (2013-2017)and took office as the deputy mayor of Oslo on 21 October 2015.

In Workers’ Youth League (AUF) she has had both local and central key positions and has been editor of the Norwegian magazine, ‘Praksis’.
