669 arrested for violating lockdown

COLOMBO (News 1st): Another 669 persons have been arrested for violating lockdown regulations yesterday (11). This was during the period of time from 6:00 a.m. yesterday (11) until 6:00 a.m. today (12). The number of vehicles seized by the police during the last 24 hours was also 38. Accordingly, a total of 69,957 persons have been arrested on charges of violating the lockdown since last year. Meanwhile, 761 vehicles and 1,085 persons entering the Western Province as well as 897 persons and 670 vehicles leaving the Western Province were inspected by the Police yesterday.
