Inmates to receive second dose of Sinopharm today

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Prisons has decided administer the second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine to inmates who have taken the first dose. Accordingly, 2,067 male inmates and 396 female inmates who were vaccinated with the first dose in the preliminary phase, are scheduled to receive their second dose today (08). Moreover, 964 male inmates and 694 female inmates will be vaccinated tomorrow (09), according to health guidelines. The Prisons Spokesperson Chandana Ekanayake said that the Department of Prisons had taken the decision in view of the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
