COLOMBO (News 1st): The second reading of the Finance Bill is scheduled to take place at the Parliament today (07).
The Parliament is due to meet from 10.00 a.m. onwards under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena today.
The Committee on Parliamentary Affairs previously decided to only convene the Parliament for two day within this month due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
An ordinance under the Extraordinary Service Act is due to be read for the second time while the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka is due to be read for the second time today.
The second reading of the Finance Bill is also scheduled to be done today.
Moreover, regulations under the Product Tax Act and regulations under the Import and Export Act will be debated today, the Parliamentary Communication Department added.
Thereafter, the time has been allocated for oral questions and the adjournment debate.
