COLOMBO (News 1st); Another tremor was experienced in the South of Sri Lanka on Tuesday (7).
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said the tremor measures a magnitude 2.4 and was experienced in Lunugamwehera.
On the 24th of August, a magnitude 2.5 minor tremor was experienced in Yala Block 01, close to Sithulpawwa.
That tremor was experienced in the Hambantota area shortly after 09:15 PM.
On the 16th of August, an earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale was reported in the Indian ocean.
The quake that hit 1200 km south of Sri Lanka did not have any effect on the country.
4 tremors were reported on the same day, on the 5th of December 2020.
