Two more sites for burying COVID-19 bodies, no more space in Ottamawadi

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two more sites  for burying the bodies of persons who died of COVID-19 had been recommended, the Ministry of Health states. The Ministry of Health said that these lands are located in Iyaladi, Trincomalee and Puttalam areas. However, final approval has not yet been obtained for the lands in question. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health stated that all local health personnel have already been informed to provide information on suitable lands for burying the bodies of those who die of COVID-19. Action will be taken to select suitable lands based on the information provided by the health personnel. Meanwhile, the bodies of 2,522 persons who died of COVID-19 have been buried in the Ottamawadi area, however the Ministry of Health added that there are only 300 spaces available for burial in the Ottamawadi area.
