COLOMBO (News 1st): The Committee on Parliamentary Business is scheduled to meet today (02) to discuss on the next Parliamentary sessions.

The Committee is due to decide on the proceedings of Parliament for September 07, 08, 09 and 10.

Monday, September 06 has been declared a special Parliamentary day and the Government is scheduled to respond to questions raised by Parliamentarians on that day.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Electoral Reforms is scheduled to meet today (02) as well.

The Parliamentary Select Committee to identify amendments to the rules and regulations of the Elections and the Election system and to make necessary amendments in this regard is scheduled to meet under the chairmanship of the Leader of the House, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

The report of the three member review committee appointed by the Minister of Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Government to identify the shortcomings in the local government electoral system and provide solutions to them will be taken up at the Select Committee today.
