Over 20 million jabs administered in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): State Minister Channa Jayasumana says that Sri Lanka surpassed the previous record of the highest number of vaccines administered in a single day, by vaccinating 571,589 persons yesterday (30).

Accordingly, a total of 20 million (20,126,990) jabs have been administered as of today (31).

On Monday (30) 11,951 persons were inoculated with the first dose of Covishield-AstraZeneca and 653 persons with its second dose.

Also on Monday (30) 48,280 persons were inoculated with the first dose and 488,158 persons with the second dose of Sinopharm, while 12 persons inoculated with the first dose and 1,662 persons with the second dose of Pfizer .

16 persons were inoculated with the first dose of Moderna while 20,857 persons have been inoculated with the second dose of Moderna, on Monday (30), said Professor Channa Jayasumana.
