300T of medical grade oxygen to be brought from India every week

COLOMBO (News 1st): Dr. Saman Ratnayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Pharmaceuticals, Supply and Regulation says that it has been decided to bring in 300 tons of oxygen weekly from India. He noted that as the COVID-19 infected persons in the country has increased, the demand has increased to 140 tons of oxygen a day. Dr. Saman Ratnayake mentioned that the demand for oxygen was 20 tons per day for patients in Sri Lanka before the COVID-19 spread.
