US launches drone strike targeting ISIS strategist

(News 1st) : US security forces have launched a drone strike on a hideout targeting Islamic State militants in eastern Afghanistan. The drone strike was launched targeting a major strategist of the organization, who was subsequently killed in the drone attack. The U.S. military says no civilians were injured during the attack. The group ISIS-K, which is believed to be a branch of ISIS, also claimed responsibility for last Thursday's suicide attack on Kabul airport. Nearly 170 people were killed, including 13 US soldiers and 28 Taliban militants. U.S. President Joe Biden previously warned of a possible retaliation after the attack.
