Sri Lanka's Mahesh Jayakody qualifies for Repechage Stage at Tokyo Paralympics

(News 1st): Mahesh Jayakody of Sri Lanka at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games ranked sixth in the second preliminary round of men's singles rowing event. He qualified to compete in the Repechage Stage after he finished sixth at the match this morning (28) and recorded a time of 11 minutes and 21.3 seconds. Jayakody will be advanced to the Group B finals, which is scheduled for tomorrow (29). Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Sampath Bandara came to 23 place out of the 31 competitors in the Men’s Recurve Open Archery Ranking Round event held yesterday (27). Sri Lanka’s Ranjan Dharmasena also lost his first round match of the wheelchair tennis tournament to Alexender Cataldo of Chile.
