COVID AUTHORITIES IN DESPERATE PLEA: Admits State Machinery Overwhelmed

COLOMBO (News 1st); State Minister for COVID Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle has appealed to all Sri Lankans, including those living overseas, to assist local hospitals in every possible way.

Speaking to reporters on Friday (27), the State Minister said that with the rise in COVID-19 patients being admitted to the hospitals, those hospitals are in need of medical supplies and other necessities.

‘This is time where everyone is expected to help local hospitals,’ she said.

At the same time, State Minister of Export Diversification Arundhika Fernando reminded the public to follow the health guidelines and said people breaching the provincial travel ban to obtain vaccines administered in other areas, has turned into an issue that needs to be addressed.
