1,000 COVID-19 deaths within last six days

COLOMBO (News 1st): Over 1,000 COVID-19 related deaths have taken place within the last six days.

Accordingly, with 209 deaths on 25 August, 198 deaths on 24 August, 190 deaths on 23 August, 194 deaths on 22 August, 183 deaths on 21 August and 198 deaths on 20 August, the total number of deaths adds up to 1,172.

The total number of deaths in the country also crossed the 8,000 mark yesterday (26).

Moreover, the Government decided to extend the imposed lockdown until 06 September.
