Police ASPs assigned to monitor COVID-19 deaths

COLOMBO (News 1st): Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) have been assigned to monitor deaths in selected hospitals in the Western Province, Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa says. SSP Thalduwa said that accordingly, officers have been assigned to Colombo National Hospital, Ragama Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila Hospital, Panadura Hospital and Kalutara Hospital. He said that the ASPs were assigned to supervise duties due to false news published on social media about people dying in those hospitals due to COVID-19. The Police Media Spokesman further stated that the officers will also take care of the proper functioning of the Hospital Police.
