NO proposal to slash wages of Private & Public sector workers

COLOMBO (News 1st); A political proposal was NOT brought forward to slash the salaries of private and public sector employees, given the present situation in the country.

Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dullas Alahapperuma speaking at the weekly Cabinet Media briefing on Tuesday (24), said no government politician has made such a proposal.

'All cabinet ministers have donated Rs. 10,000/- monthly to the COVID-19 fund,' he told reporters, adding that the donations are also made by Provincial Level politicians as well.
