Four mutations of Delta variant identified in SL

COLOMBO (News 1st): Four mutations of the Delta variant have been identified in Sri Lanka, Professor in Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Neelika Malavige says. Speaking at a special discussion telecast today morning (22), the Professor said that the vaccines used in Sri Lanka respond effectively to all these mutations. Joining the discussion, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said that the people should act responsibly during this time of severe travel restrictions. He also urged the public to obtain their vaccine at the nearest center without choosing a specific brand of vaccine.
